The DA agreed with three out of four of President Jacob Zuma's
choices of judges for the Constitutional Court, party leader Helen
Zille said on Tuesday.
"We were able to support judges Johan Froneman, Chris Jafta and
Sisi Khampepe on the basis that they were fit for the purpose of
serving on the highest court in South Africa," a statement read.
"The Democratic Alliance requested that the President reconsider
his nomination of Judge President [Mogoeng] Mogoeng."
This was because Mogoeng did not recuse himself from a case
where his wife was the prosecutor. Judge Leona Theron would be a
better candidate, Zille said.
