Nine people including a fireman and two children sustained minor burns when a building caught alight in Johannesburg central on Friday, paramedics said.
ER24 Werner Vermaak said a building on the corner of Claim and Twist in Joubert Park caught fire around 3.30pm.
"The injured were treated on the scene for smoke inhalation and transported to Hillbrow Clinic and Charlotte Maxeke Hospital for further medical attention."
Vermaak said it was not known what caused the fire.
