Jackie Selebi's lawyers will meet prosecutors in Pretoria on Monday to view documents they believe are crucial to the defence of the former police commissioner.

Selebi's trial was postponed on Friday because his advocate could not continue without the paperwork.

The former national police commissioner is on trial on charges of corruption and defeating the ends of justice.

The National Prosecuting Authority is keeping documents relating to an investigation carried out by the Scorpions into the business affairs of disgraced mining magnate Brett Kebble, nicknamed Empire K.

Selebi's lawyers want access to this information so that they can challenge claims made by the state about payments allegedly made by Kebble to the former police chief.

On Friday, Glenn Agliotti, the state's first witness, conceded that Selebi never knew that he was receiving money which originated from the mining tycoon.

The defence team also wants the NPA to show it Agliotti's passports to prove when he travelled to London.

This relates to British intelligence reports Selebi allegedly showed Agliotti, which detail how British authorities were monitoring his movements.

Agliotti stands accused of being involved in Kebble's murder.
