Eyewitness News has learnt that controversial personality 'Bad' Brad Wood is laying charges against Jackie Selebi, for allegedly taking money to have him dismissed from the police force.

Wood's name emerged in the corruption and defeating the ends of justice trial of the former police chief last week.

Glen Agliotti claimed he had asked Selebi to help deal with a blackmail plot against a Jordanian businessman apparently orchestrated by Wood.

After Agliotti testified that he had arranged a meeting between Eyhab Jumean, the former husband of model Gina Athans, and Selebi, Wood decided he had enough ammunition to charge the ex-police chief.

Wood's attorney Ian Levitt says his client believes Selebi had him dismissed as an SAPS reservist.

"But this is not only against Selebi, this is everyone involved, from Selebi down," says Levitt.

Jumean apparently told Selebi that Wood had tape recordings of himself having sex with Athens and was using this video to blackmail him.

Instead Wood is claiming he was behind a police probe into Jumean's attempt to have polo-playing playboy Leo Baxter killed and the Jordanian asked Selebi to make that investigation go away.
