Jackie Selebi's legal team have tried to portray Glenn Agliotti as a lying fraudster, who is willing to fabricate evidence in order save himself.
Agliotti is still being cross examined by the former police commissioner's advocate.
Selebi is on trial on charges of corruption and defeating the ends of justice.
Agliotti grimaced as he slowly nodded his head, admitting that he does lie from time to time.
He even conceded that he has been dishonest in order to get a preferential deal from authorities referring to a statement he made to the NIA.
Agliotti even acknowledged that he had told Clinton Nassif to lie to Brett Kebble about his relationship with Selebi, so that the disgraced mining magnate could hire him as his security consultant but the state's star witness denied cooking his books the same way the Kebbles had done.
Selebi's advocate suggested that Agliotti's accounts cannot be trusted pre-empting the state's case proving payments to the ex-cop.
