At least 14 people, including a 12-year-old girl, have been wounded by rubber bullets fired by police officers trying to disperse protestors in Diepsloot.

Diepsloot residents are demanding better houses and for corrupt officials to be removed from office.

The injured are now being treated by paramedics at the Extension One Taxi Rank.

A 12-year-old girl, who was shot in the arm, says she was walking to a tuck shop with her mother when the shooting erupted.

Residents have accused police of shooting at them for no reason.
