Former police commissioner Jackie Selebi has warned there is another damning tape to come in his corruption trial.

A tape recording of state witness Glen Agliotti speaking to senior policeman Mulangi Mphego in January last year was shown in court on Thursday after Judge Meyer Joffee ruled the tape could be admitted as 'preliminary' evidence.

The hour-long video showed Agliotti slamming the Scorpions for using him as part of a politically motivated campaign against Selebi.

"They told me, look unfortunately you got involved in the middle of a political game," he claimed.

After watching the tape in court, Selebi quipped there was more to come ? referring to another video filmed in 2003, also featuring Agliotti and Mphego.

It is unclear if the defense plans on introducing the second tape as evidence as it could cast Mphego in a bad light.

While the video shown on Thursday will likely dent the state's case, it is still early days and both sides still have a cache of ammunition at their disposal.
