Women's Minister Noluthando Mayende-Sibiya has called on the IAAF to declare Caster Semenya's gender verification tests null and void.

The 18-year-old Limpopo athlete's test results are expected to be released in the next few weeks following her controversial win in Berlin.

Mayende-Sibiya is furious with the IAAF, saying the international athletics body breached its own ethical policies over the way it handled the issue.

She said the confidentiality of the tests was not respected and questioned whether consent was given.

The minister lambasted the media's handling of the debacle, pointing fingers at the press in Australia who leaked the results, the magazine that gave Semenya a makeover, the local presenter who was fired for his comments and the tabloid that ran the headline 'Proof you are not a boy'.
