Health officials are urging South Africans to get vaccinated against measles.
There are more than 1100 cases confirmed around the country.
A Potchefstroom woman and a Pretoria child have died from the disease in recent weeks.
The National Institute for Communicable Diseases's Barry Schoub says children and adults should get their shots even if they have had the disease before.
"The vaccine is very safe; side effects are very uncommon and very trivial when they do occur," says Schoub.
