Two men were arrested after they were found in possession of stolen vehicles at a chop-shop in Shoshanguve, north of Pretoria on Saturday, officials said.

After receiving information, police arrived at the house in Block GG and found the men punching new engine numbers using stencils, said Head of Crime Line, Yusuf Abramjee.

"Police seized a Dyna truck which was stolen in Silverton, a Mercedes Bens C200 Compressor that was hijacked in Gauteng, a white BMW 525 and a Toyota Corolla," he said.

It is believed the seizure is worth between R1.5-million and R2-million.

Abramjee said the latest breakthrough takes the total number of arrests of Crime Line to almost 850 and confiscations to R32-million.

"We are delighted that a member of the public passed on the detailed information to sms 32211 that led to the breakthrough," he said.
