South African 800m world champion Caster Semenya was silently awaiting President Jacob Zuma and ANC Youth League president Julius Malema at the leaugue's gala dinner on Saturday night.

The dinner, which is held in honour of the South African medalists at the World Champion stars, was supposed to start at 7pm, but Semenya, sat silently while photographers and television crews photographed her with Khotso Mokoena silver medallist for the long jump.

Safa President Kirsten Nematendaeni was also at the event which was held at the Johannesburg Country Club.
