A man was arrested in connection with the murder of a seven-year-old girl in Somerset West, Western Cape police said on Sunday.
The girl was reported missing on Saturday and the 22-year-old man last seen with her was arrested, Constable Susan Jantjies said.
"After interrogation the man told the police that the child was dead and led them to the body."
She was found in a bushy area of Sir Lowry's Pass on Sunday morning.
The man would appear in the Somerset West Magistrate's Court soon on a murder charge.
