Tshwane Mayor Gwen Ramokgopa has urged the capital's residents to ensure their municipal accounts are up-to-date.
Ramokgopa announced a major reshuffle in the city's top management on Tuesday which has seen seven mayoral members relieved of their duties.
She said plans were in place to strengthen the capital's debt collection as Mamelodi alone owes the council R800-million.
Ramokgopa assured ratepayers the money would be spent wisely.
"We want to commit ourselves to the public to ensure that we use public resources more prudently," said Ramokgopa.
