A police informer has told the South Gauteng High Court how senior officers raided flats in Gauteng for drugs only to sell them to back to drug lords.

The man is testifying in the trial of three senior West Rand cops who were arrested on charges of drug trafficking earlier this year.

Norman Kokoeng told the court on Tuesday he was recruited by senior superintendent Dumisani Jwara to inform police where drugs were being sold.

Jwara, Landro Mokgosani and Victor Jwili were accused of selling drugs confiscated by police to drug lords.

Kokoeng said at one stage his friend was arrested for drug possession after collecting cocaine and mandrax from one of the policemen; a day later he was released and not charged.

Cross-examination continues on Wednesday.
