Gauteng hospitals allegedly owe R546-million to their suppliers.
The embattled companies have in the past threatened to withdraw their services unless they are paid.
The outstanding amounts were revealed in a document distributed to members of the Gauteng Legislature's Health Committee on Tuesday.
The Democratic Alliance's Jack Bloom said despite promises all suppliers would be paid, there is a significant amount outstanding.
"Charlotte Maxeke Hospital owed R92-million to supplies, Chris Hani Baragwanath R77-million. It just goes on; I really think there is a failed promise because it was all meant to be paid up by the end of September. It is actually appalling," said Bloom.
