A security company has fired a man for playing a CD which uses racially offensive lyrics containing a reference to Nelson Mandela.

Falcons Security boss Ben Berger on Wednesday told Eyewitness News he was horrified by the song, which mimics the national anthem and on which the k-word is used, when he heard it being played at a potjiekos competition at Sun City.

Berger was arrested and charged with crimen injuria. Willem Alberts, the company?s head of its operations at the hotel, was suspended.

Now another employee has admitted to owning the CD and has been fired.

Cosatu's North West provincial secretary Solly Phetoe believes other people were also taking part in the singing to the song.

He said he was convinced other people knew about the CD as well.
