Two robbers who posed as policemen were arrested by community members in Eldorado Park on Saturday, police said.

"It is alleged the men knocked on resident's doors saying they were policemen and robbed them," said spokesperson captain Phillemon Khorombi.

He said the suspects were assaulted by the residents in Freedom Park, after they had been caught at around 12.30am.

"One man was taken to hospital and is under police guard; the other is in the Eldorado Park police station's holding cells," said Khorombi.

The men are expected to appear in the magistrate's court on Monday.
