Police say the circumstances which led to the disappearance of a Bryanston teenager are still puzzling.
Maria Maphoroma went missing last week along with her ten-year-old friend at a BP garage near Bryanston Primary School.
The younger girl re-appeared the next day and told police and her parents she had been kidnapped at the filling station and was locked up at a flat in the Johannesburg city centre.
Maphoroma's mother says she hopes her daughter will be found alive.
"I need my child to come back. I miss her, especially at night. I can't eat, I can't sleep, I keep thinking about her," she said.
