God is going to sort out journalists who do not give enough coverage to the African National Congress in the Western Cape, the party's provincial leader Membathisi Mdladlana said on Thursday.

Mdladlana, who was appointed to the position by the ANC national executive in a bid to overcome bitter factionalism in the party in the province, said he was being treated unfairly as shadow premier.

"I now realise that Helen Zille is the darling of the media in the Western Cape," he said.

The media never asked him for comment on statements by Zille, who is provincial premier and leader of the Democratic Alliance.

But they always approached her for comment when he said something.

"So there is unfairness," he said.

"But let them continue, because I know God is going to catch up with them very soon."

Mdladlana is a lay preacher in the Presbyterian church.
