Police are trying to piece together what happened to a 13-year-old Bryanston Primary School girl who was found after disappearing over 10 days ago.

It is understood the minor was abducted from a petrol station near her primary school along with her 10-year-old friend who was found a day later.

On Sunday the younger girl lead police her friend's whereabouts at a Hillbrow house near the Johannesburg city centre in which she stayed with four elderly Nigerian men.

One man has been arrested on charges of abduction and statutory rape in connection with her disappearance that sparked massive search efforts.

While the girl's mother is grateful to authorities, she believes the law must take its course for those responsible for keeping her child.

"They must arrest them; they must feel the pain because I have been in pain while looking for my child. I was looking day and night thinking maybe he [sic] is dead," she said.
