Deputy Police Minister Fikile Mbalula has denied suggestions that his relationship with Minister Nathi Mthethwa is rapidly deteriorating.

Mbalula cancelled a news conference last week at the eleventh hour, allegedly under pressure from his boss. But he has told Eyewitness News there is no battle over publicity and his relationship with the minister his good.

"It is a fuss to blow a miscommunication among ourselves to say we are fighting," said Mbalula on Wednesday.

The former African National Congress Youth League president is adamant his working relationship with Mthethwa is fine.

"People like to see a fight between us; I don?t think that they are about to see it."
