Singer Robbie Klay's allegations of being molested as a child by fellow Afrikaans singer Jurie Els are "fabrications", the High Court in Pretoria heard on Friday.

Danie Dorfling, for Els, put it to the 23-year-old Klay that he was lying about the alleged indecent acts he claimed Els had subjected him to.

"If he (Els) has to testify, he will say that your allegations of indecent acts are fabrications. It's a lie. You are lying about it," Dorfling said.

Klay replied he knew what the truth was and what a lie was.

To this, Acting Judge Chris Eksteen said: "Yes, but we don't know what the truth is," to which Klay said: "It is the truth."

Dorfling said Els would say that he only filled two roles in Klay's life: as the father the young singer never had in his life and as executive director of Klay's albums, turning "a little boy into a well-known star".

Klay agreed that this statement was the truth.

Els has pleaded not guilty to two charges of indecently assaulting Klay ? respectively when he was under the age of 12 and 16, as well as soliciting Klay to commit indecent acts when he was a minor.

Klay earlier testified in graphic detail about the alleged sexual acts, which included acts of sodomy, oral sex and mutual masturbation, between himself and Els.

He claimed in his evidence in chief the acts started when he was 11 years old and only ended when he was 18, but admitted that he was a willing partner.

In cross-examination he admitted that none of the acts of sodomy he described could have taken place before he was 12.

Klay has also conceded in cross-examination that the statement he made to the police in February last year differed in many aspects from his evidence in court, but refused to admit that he had told lies.

Klay admitted that the magazine Huisgenoot/You had paid him R10 000 for his story.

On Friday, he said he had given instructions to an attorney and an advocate to sue Els for "millions of rand" in damages.

He added that he still owed Els money in respect of a car when they parted ways.

He had worked for Els for a while to help pay off the car, but fell behind when they parted ways and he had to rely solely on his income from his dwindling number of concerts.

Klay admitted he initially did not want to lay charges against Els until he had spoken to his legal adviser.

Klay said his mother had been interested in Els romantically and he had hoped that they would become a couple, but this never happened.

The trial continues on Monday.
