Mitchell's Plain residents have given Police Minister Nathi Mthethwa the names of police officers they allege are corrupt.

The minister met with residents, police and Community Policing Forums in Beacon Valley in Mitchell's Plain.

When the chance came, residents complained to Mthethwa about the crooked cops.

He encouraged Mitchell's Plain residents to name and shame the police officers.

"Some of you even said you know the police officers that are involved; we would like to know those officers too, we do not want police going around adding a burden to our poverty stricken communities," says Mthethwa.

The Community Policing Forum's Michael Jacobs publically named the policeman he believes interfered in the court case of those accused of killing neighbourhood watchman Mervyn Jacobs.
