A security guard has been shot and killed in the Milnerton area.

The 42-year-old man from the Chippa Security Company was shot in the head as he sat in a car parked along the N7 highway last night.

Norman Benjamin was with two other colleagues when the shooting occurred.

One of the guards was standing outside a car in which the victim and another security officer were sitting.

They were in the process of changing shifts when a single gunshot went off.

The guard who was with Benjamin in the car fled the scene and detectives are now trying to track him down as they investigate the motive behind the killing.

It is understood the man and Benjamin had an argument several days prior to the incident.

It is possible this could have led to last night?s shooting, although the other guard who was on the scene told police there did not appear to be any tension between the two on Sunday night.
