The Democratic Alliance's Gauteng Spokesperson on Corruption Jack Bloom is preparing to go to court over his suspension.
The ANC is celebrating the Gauteng Legislature's move to suspend him for five days.
Bloom accused former health MEC Brian Hlongwa of accepting kickbacks from 3P consultants which held a multimillion rand contract with the Health Department.
Bloom said 3P helped Hlongwa purchase a R7.2-million house.
Integrity Commissioner Advocate Jules Browde ruled in Hlongwa's favour and ordered speaker Lindiwe Maseko to call on Bloom to apologise.
"The action of the speaker is proof that he is not infallible, he refused to apologise and made a political statement as if he is the custodian of truth," the ANC's Dumisa Ntuli said.
Bloom said he would not apologise and would not take his suspension lying down.
"I am going ahead with the High Court action to overturn the decision of the Privileges and Ethics Committee and we are also going to overturn the sanction against me," he said.
