Some Eastern Cape matric pupils missed school on Thursday when
their bus got stuck on the Ndlambula River bridge in Lusikisiki
during heavy rains, the Eastern Cape traffic department said.
Spokesman Tshepo Machaea said the bus was transporting pupils,
including Grade 12 pupils, to the Zwelibongile High School when it
got stuck.
The children got out of the bus unharmed, he said, adding that
the road has since been closed to traffic.
Machaea said disaster management and the police were still
trying to move the bus, which had been stuck on the bridge for
several hours.
