Afrikaans television channel kykNET is taking legal action against Teazers, saying the strip club used their logo on billboards.

kykNET's lawyers say that the "unauthorised use of the mark kykNET is detrimental to the character and repute of kykNET's well-known name, and therefore amounts to trademark infringement," according to News24.

Teazers owner Lolly Jackson has laughed off the claims, saying he only intended to appeal to the Afrikaans market.

"The rules at Teazers is that you can look and but can't touch, and hence the slogan 'kyk net', it's not related to the channel in anyway," insisted Jackson.

"If they want the billboard changed so much, fine I will do so, I will then just call it 'net kyk'. Imagine if I had said 'Teasers is OK, come check it out', would OK and Checkers supermarkets sue me as well?

"This is all so ridiculous," said Jackson.

kykNET has given Teazers until 11 December 2009 to take down all billboards displaying images similar to its logo.
