African National Congress Youth League leader Julius Malema was seething on Friday morning after he was booed from the stage at the South African Communist Party summit in Polokwane on Thursday.

He was demanding an apology from the party?s leadership and from the ANC?s Gwede Mantashe, who was being accused of failing to protect the youth league president.

It follows Malema?s recent public spat with SACP Deputy General Secretary Jeremy Cronin over the nationalisation of mines.

The ANC youth league leader stood on the stage demanding he be allowed to respond to the SACP members who booed but the communist party?s leadership refused to give him the platform, angering the youth league president who turned to Mantashe for help.

Mantashe told Malema they were not at an ANC rally and had no right to address the crowd.

This infuriated the youth league leader even further and he was now accusing Mantashe of failing to protect him.

All three parties involved had yet to issue formal statements about Thursday?s events but analysts said they were keeping a close eye on Mantashe?s response to Malema?s accusations against him.
