Deputy Correctional Services Minister Hlengiwe Mkhize was on Friday the latest government official to come under fire for her official vehicle.

She has bought herself a Porsche Cayenne.

The car is valued at R760 000 and government has moved to highlight that it was well within her vehicle allowance limit.

The Democratic Alliance is also waiting on a response from Mkhize's superior, Correctional Services Minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, whose R970 000 Lexus has caused outrage among opposition parties.

The DA said government spent more than R320-million on state vehicles in the past seven months but government said the vehicles were owned by the state and were within its expense limits.
