The safety of visitors to the Table Mountain National Park remains the park?s number one concern, officials said on Tuesday.

Two armed men stormed the park's offices at Cape Point on Sunday and made off with over R1-million.

The money was a few days worth of visitor gate fees collected during the busy festive season.

"We have outsourced security staff, as well as our staff on duty; sniffer dogs, choppers and armed reaction, so we have various interventions to ensure the safety of staff and visitors," said Table Mountain National Park's Gavin Bell.
