Former print journalist, Mark Stanfield, was found dead in his car in Lowveld, Mpumalanga police said on Sunday.

Captain Leonard Hlathi said a swimming pool pipe was connected from the car's exhaust to the window and Stanfield's body was found in the boot of the car.

Suicide suspected

"We are suspecting that he committed suicide."

The car was found on a farm road near Kaapsehoop.

Hlathi said Stanffiled used to work for a the newspaper, The Lowvelder, but according to his employees he resigned a year ago.
