Four people were injured when two cars collided in Umhlanga on Monday, KwaZulu-Natal paramedics said.

"Four people were seriously injured when two cars collided... on Centenary Boulevard in Umhlanga this afternoon," said Netcare 911's Jeff Wicks.

"The cars ploughed into one another and the drivers of both were entrapped in the crumpled wreckage."

The injured were taken to hospital and were in stable condition, Wicks said.
