Cricket South Africa Youth Manager Niels Momberg is recovering in hospital after being shot in an attempted hijacking in Parkmore on Monday night.
Momberg, son of a former ambassador to Greece, was shot in the chest and the bullet lodged in his arm.
The hijackers ran away after shooting him in his driveway and nothing was taken.
CSA Chief Executive Gerald Majola has extended his good wishes to him.
Momberg's brother Altus said he was extremely lucky as the bullet did not hit any vital organs.
"He's as in good spirits as he can be. The family were quite shocked when we heard the news. He's got a wife and two sons at home so it was quite a big shock to all of us," he said.
