The ANC Youth League has launched an attack on Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan. It says he is behaving as if he is the only person who understands the country's financial problems.
The youth league says it is losing confidence in Gordhan because of his proposals to deal with youth development.
It is angry that he has only allocated R340-million to fund the National Youth Development Agency ? an amount the youth wing believes is too little.
The league says the minister is trying to "strangle" the NYDA at "birth". It will raise the matter with the ANC at its next meeting.
The attack on Gordhan comes as the league's leader Julius Malema faces strong criticism for singing a song on Tuesday that speaks of shooting boers.
Malema has also taken aim at Gordhan in recent weeks, claiming that during his time as head of the South African Revenue Service people close to President Jacob Zuma were unfairly audited by collectors.
Got something to say?
