The Presidency said on Thursday it would not respond to singer Steve Hofmeyr's boycott of a dinner with President Jacob Zuma because it was an ANC matter.
The activist snubbed a dinner between the president and afrikaner representatives because of the president's failure to act against Youth League leader Julius Malema.
Hofmeyr said he was upset no representatives from government or the ruling party had spoken out against Malema's shocking hate speech.
Speaking at the University of Johannesburg this week, Malema sang "shoot the boers, they are rapists".
The ANC defended Malema, saying he was quoted out of context.
Got something to say?
