The Tshwane Community Safety Department's Executive Director Mpho Mmutle has resigned.
Mmutle was re-appointed to the position in 2008 after he resigned four years earlier amid a slew of allegations of corruption, mismanagement and nepotism.
He said he was leaving the Tshwane metro police, the fire brigade and the emergency services for "greener pastures".
This is the second time Mmutle has resigned as head of the metro police.
When he was re-appointed in 2008 — after resiging in 2004 — Tshwane Mayor Gwen Ramokgopa said the charges against him were never proven.
Got something to say?
