Three Angolans will appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court on Monday for allegedly abducting the five-year-old son of a mining magnate, also from Angola, the SABC reported on Thursday.
The boy's kidnappers demanded a ransom of over R1-million that was paid two days after he was snatched last Sunday.
Police spokesperson Inspector Richard Munyai was quoted as saying it was believed one of the suspects was a relative of Samuel Amoes' family.
He said police had also recovered an undisclosed amount of cash believed to be the ransom.
"The suspects were arrested in Troyeville and Bedfordview."
Police said at the time of the kidnap Amoes was in the care of his nanny while his parents were in Angola.
Captain Cynthia Magoai said the nanny took the boy to her church in Troyeville. He was kidnapped while playing with other children at the church's play school around 8am.
