A technician has been found dead under a lift in the Radisson Blu Hotel in Rivonia Road in Sandton.

The 54-year-old man was reported missing by his family on Tuesday.

The police's Kim Cloete said on Wednesday police are investigating what happened.

"At about 12:30 the body was found crushed under the lift on the 23rd floor of the hotel. Police have opened an inquest into the incident," she said.
