Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs star Siphiwe Tshabalala narrowly escaped death after two masked gunmen attacked and robbed him at his Roodepoort home last week.
The Sunday World reported that Tshabalala was accosted by a masked man as he opened his garage door to allow someone in.
He and his friend were ordered to lie on the floor as his home was ransacked.
It is believed that a total of nine cellphones and his wallet were stolen.
He said he could have died had he not co-operated.
The Honeydew police are investigating a case of armed robbery.
"I've done nothing to go to hell in the first place. I know I am not an evil person," Mathew Naidoo said.
"He once took a pillow and put it on my face. He told me he'll kill me and no-one will hear the shots."
