Kwaito musician Mandoza's culpable homicide trial will start on 8 December, the Roodepoort Magistrate's Court decided on Thursday.

Mandoza (real name Mduduzi Tshabalala) faced two counts of culpable homicide after allegedly being involved in a car accident in which two people were killed in Johannesburg on 1 March this year.

Magistrate Delize Smit set the trial down for 8 and 9 December.

Mandoza entered the courtroom through the back door, seemingly in an attempt to avoid photographers and stares from his fans.

He made his entrance with his manager, Vaughn Eaton and his wife, Mpho in tow.

In the dock, dressed in blue jeans and brown leather jacket without his signature sunglasses, he appeared calm as Magistrate Smith informed him of the trial dates.

He kept a straight face as he walked out of court and stopped to shake hands with a few fans.

Outside the court, Mandoza did not shy away from the photographers as he made his way to his luxurious black Mercedes C280.

Mandoza's Chrysler Crossfire allegedly hit a Volkswagen Jetta on the N1 near the 14th Avenue off-ramp at 1.23am. The Jetta lost control and overturned, trapping the two occupants inside. They died on the scene.
