Tiger Brands on Saturday rejected claims that Albany bread has been laced with poison to make white people sick.
This came after various emails did the rounds suggesting that the brand's bread had been laced with poison by disgruntled staff.
According to the company, an investigation is currently underway to identify the source of the online message.
Tiger Brands' Thabi Segoale assured consumers that the company's products are safe.
"We have no idea of the exact origins [of the email] and we consider this particular message to be malicious."
