Two bodies have been found in an open field behind the Strandfontein water treatment plant in Cape Town, Western Cape police said on Tuesday.
Lt-Col Andre Traut said the bodies, one burnt beyond recognition, were discovered on Monday at 3.30pm.
The other body was that of a man in his 30s.
A murder case had been opened.
