A man was shot dead while parked at a traffic light in Grassy Park, Cape Town, Western Cape police said on Friday.
Captain Frederick van Wyk said the man, in his 30s, stopped his car at the intersection of Strandfontein and Boundary roads at 7.40pm on Thursday.
Three people pulled up next to him, got out of their car and randomly opened fire on his car before fleeing. The man was shot several times and died on the scene.
Van Wyk said no arrests had been made and the motive for the murder was still unclear.
