Mary Metcalfe on Friday said her teams were now tracing paper trails and contacting schools as part of an audit into the Limpopo textbook fiasco.
The former higher education director-general said will be working throughout the weekend in order to complete the project on time.
Three separate task teams are now investigating the matter.
Metcalfe told a parliamentary committee that no Grade 10 maths and science textbooks were ever ordered for this year.
Metcalfe said she will not release an interim report, but all will be revealed in a final report which she intends making public later this month.
“I am not going to be releasing any interim report because I feel the public need to get a full picture of what’s happened in Limpopo in order to make sense of it.”
