The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) on Friday said former ANC Youth League (ANCYL) leader Julius Malema interfered with management's command by addressing a group of soldiers earlier this week.
The expelled ANCYL president spoke to a group of off-duty soldiers in Lenasia in Johannesburg earlier this week and told them they were being mistreated by government.
Malema claimed he was invited by some of the soldiers who were unsatisfied with the force.
He also said the Defence Department was wasting money by paying the soldiers who had been suspended.
But the SANDF hit back at Malema, saying soldiers who attended the speech would be identified and disciplined.
Defence force spokesperson General Xolani Mabanga said the controversial politician had no right speaking to the soldiers.
"Management of the SANDF should be left to be deal with those appointed to do so according to the Constitution."
The SANDF said further interference from Malema could result in charges.
