Three men were arrested for allegedly raping an 83-year-old woman in Vryburg, North West police said on Saturday.
Sergeant Kelebogile Moiloa said the men, aged 22, 27 and 37, allegedly broke into the woman's house and demanded money on Friday night.
When the woman told them she did not keep cash in her house she was brutally gang raped.
When the men left, the woman called neighbours for help and was taken to hospital.
"[Police] went to the nearby taverns to investigate and arrested one suspect who then led the police to the other suspects," Moiloa said.
The men were expected to appear in the Madibogo Magistrate Court on Tuesday.
