A man was killed by a bolt of lightning near Witpoort in Limpopo, police said on Thursday.
The man (35) and two others were huddled under a tree during a storm around 3pm on Wednesday when they were struck, Colonel Peter Matseakgang said.
The two survivors suffered minor injuries. An inquest docket was opened.
