A MetroFM interview with three journalists on the ANC's upcoming elective conference in Mangaung was cancelled at the last minute, according to a report on Wednesday.
The Times newspaper reported that Sunday Times political editor S'thembiso Msomi, Business Day political editor Sam Mkokeli and Southern African bureau chief of the Financial Times, Andrew England, were already at the SABC studios when the interview was cancelled.
The show was to start at 8pm on Tuesday with host Sakina Kamwendo.
"While in the studio, a call came through and one of the producers came in and asked us our names and publications we represented. Soon after the call was transferred to Kamwendo," said Msomi.
"She spoke to someone for a few minutes. A short while later we were told our views would no longer be needed."
SABC spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago declined to comment to The Times, saying he was not aware of the incident.
