A second man linked to the gang rape, murder, and mutilation of Bredasdorp teenager Anene Booysen was expected to appear in court on Friday, the Cape Argus reported.
The 21-year-old would appear in the Bredasdorp Magistrate's Court. A 22-year-old man appeared in the same court in connection with the crime on Tuesday.
Booysen was left for dead at a construction site near her home after visiting a sports bar on Friday night. She had worked as a cleaner for Asla Construction.
Her aunt Wilma Brooks wept when describing Booysen's injuries to the newspaper.
"Her throat had been slit, all her fingers and both legs were broken, a broken glass bottle had been lodged in her, her stomach had been cut open... That which was supposed to be inside her body lay strewn across the scene where they found her," she said.
Her mother Corlia Olivier said Booysen called for her from her bedside in hospital on Saturday morning.
"From the moment I entered the door I could her screaming 'mother, mother, please help me', without knowing I had come."
Booysen died on Saturday afternoon.
