It was a colourful affair in Cape Town on Saturday as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) groups gathered in the city for the annual Gay Pride Parade.
They said the day was about showing society they are proud of who they are and no different from anyone else.
Somerset Road, Greenpoint was abuzz with excited LGBTI groups waiting for the pride parade to begin.
It was opened by Cape Town Mayor Patricia de Lille.
Drag Queens in bright and sparkling dresses greeted crowds and posed for photos as they arrived while tourists tried to fathom what the fan fair was all about.
Gay Pride festivities, which started in the middle of February, come to an end this weekend.
